Process of Reading

The reading process has been very hard to keep reading this book because I feel like this book is just all over the place in say too much in one chapter. An active reading strategy I have employed was just to keep reading the book even if I didn’t like reading it or it did catch my interest. I annotated a lot about things that I did not know or I had questions about and I highlighted some of the quotes and statements that really stood out to me. It was a lot of words that I did not know in this book or words that I did know this book gave me a better understanding of the word and its meaning.  It helped me to better understand some of the thing that the author was trying to say and the thing that I highlighted was just something that I could relate to in a personal way. Some advice that I would give is if you like books like this; this would be a very good book for you to read and relate to. But, on the other hand if you’re like me and don’t really like this book you just have to suck it up and read and understand the book and the concept of it. I just made sure that I kept up with the assignment even thought I didn’t enjoy reading this book. I read on my way home, to school, and at home after I finished all my other work. After reading this book I realized that I was not very exhilarated at all or at any point in this book.

Smoking

Smoking is a very bad habit for some people and for some it’s not a bad habit at all. How i feel about smoking is I feel that it’s a very bad habit and should be banned because it not only in troupes with the smoker but also the people around and they can’t do anything about you and your smoking. Dr. Douglas Bettcher contrasted a study on tobacco and farmed a report and called it WHO's Tobacco Free Initiative. One billion people will die from tobacco-related causes by the end of the century. "Smoking kills about 5.4 million people each year — one every six seconds — from lung cancer, heart disease or other illness directly linked to tobacco use." The purpose of this article was a directive to countries to warn people about the many dangers of tobacco. "If you can't measure a problem, you obviously can't manage it," said Mayor Bloomberg, who banned smoking in New York City's restaurants and bars in 2003.I feel studies on this report collected data should equip countries around the world to begin implementing anti-tobacco policies, including smoking bans, and tobacco tax hikes should be in place. "A recent Chinese study found that "only 25% of the Chinese population knew tobacco was bad for their health," Dr. Douglas Bettcher explained." I feel after all of these studies why is smoking still very much so legal in countries. I have a very strong opinion about smoking I can’t stand it or even the smell of the cigarette smoke.  But, that’s just my opinion other people may have different opinions than I have they might think that smoking is a good thing but, who’s to say which opinion is right and who’s opinion is wrong.

Sagging

The Viewpoints OF “Saggin”

Saggin what is it about Sagging. Well my point of view I like to see thing in all different ways and not just one view. I think sagging is being use in to different ways and can send of the wrong signal to some people. I think in some ways men sag because it just simply for comfort reasons. Some say they don’t like their pants around there waist for personal reasons and some for comfort reasons. The manner or style in which men wears there pants is not uncommon. (Take an honest look down any major urban area street.) In fact the phenomenon of sagging pants is somewhat infamous compared to other fashion trends from the past two or three decades. A theory on which this trend originated in the prison system due to inmates not being allowed belts on their pants. A few municipalities in various states across the country have considered passing laws banning sagging pants. I don’t think this is right because how can the country tell you how to wear your cloths just because there are some negative thoughts or stereotyping about sagging do not mean it applies to all people.
